Corporate Social Responsibility

We want to inspire the world to be more conscious and aware of the importance of being an active part of society. Because of this we support causes that inspire us.

In 2016 and 2017 we were recognised as Corporate Partner for the organisation Save the Children. We care about the future of our youngest, since they are a fundamental part of our society. We trust that by giving them an opportunity of a healthy start and a protected environment, they will have a better life and contribute to the community.

Culture and philosophy

Our philosophy is humanising our surroundings and we focus our efforts on following these values. Diversity is part of our principles. For this reason we also cooperate as sponsor of the Salaam Shalom organisation, which means “hello” and “peace” in Hebrew and Arabic. We encourage dialogue and communication without the barriers of cultural differences. New ideas, approaches and thinking motivates new knowledge. We participate in their annual event, where minorities connect and help each other.

Every day we meet different cultures represented by our guests and we are very glad to give our best, promoting equality and learning from each other. Connecting the world and supporting diverse lifestyles, through biking as our unique language, is the way we act.

In our organisation we also promote inclusion through international colourful staff with a mixture of backgrounds and nationalities. We believe that by joining forces we can get amazing positive outcomes for our society and establish a better understanding of our customers’ needs. We help each other as a team by motivating our international employees to integrate in the society through informal Danish language sessions at the workplace. We are convinced that the best way to learn is by doing.

Boosting ideas

We also support innovation in several ways. At Copenhagen Bicycles we are captivated by the Danish start-up culture and we value talented people who work hard to develop smart solutions with positive impacts on our city. For instance, we contributed to the fundraising campaign of the start-up Velocator, because we are convinced that ideas such as this GPS tracking solution will provide a safer and friendlier bike-life.

In our company we make space for individual entrepreneurs searching for a place to showcase their work. We collaborate by unifying resources with our sales and marketing forces to boost their brands.

Active citizenship

Copenhagen Bicycles is present in various events organised by Copenhagen Municipality. For instance, we volunteered in and sponsored the Copenhagen Pride Parade in 2017. We will do again in 2018, Happiness and freedom are part of our core values, which is why we promote ourselves actively in local activities that are aligned with our principles. We also participate in other events around the harbour and the city in general.

Our CEO, Yael Bassan, is a panelist of the weekly radio program Public Service, which broadcasts on the Danish Radio station P1. Through each segment the cast aim to find solutions to daily problems of the Danish society.
